Bled and its sights, the island in the middle of the lake and the church with its wishing bell, the mighty castle on the rock, traditional pletna boat rides, the Triglav National Park, the original Bled cream slice, the swans… We could write entire novels about each of these things.
We can also tell you that the fairytale-like nature, unique climate and immense energy of Bled have always been thought to have special healing powers; Bled’s tradition of natural treatments dates back to the 19th century, when Arnold Rikli founded his famous health resort here. The resort was based on the wealth of Bled’s natural resources: the clean, invigorating Alpine air, the healing thermal water and the high number of sunny days each year.
We could talk about how pleasant it is to swim in the Živa Wellness swimming pools with views of the Bled panorama, be it covered in snow or glowing in the summer sun. You are also certain to be impressed by descriptions of the superb wellness services provided by the hotel wellness centres, or you can visit one of our restaurants and experience the harmony of flavours created by the combination of excellent cuisine and the finest Slovenian wines.
We can also promise you that in the Sava Hoteli Bled, you will never be bored and neither will your children. They will be entertained by Zaki the swan, the playful and loveable mascot of the family Hotel Savica. When you are here with your family, time will pass all too quickly thanks to the many opportunities for recre-ation, cycling, hiking, walks by the lake and much more. As you set up your tent in Bled Camping, you will notice the wealth of nature all around you. The natural features and extreme diversity of the plant and animal species at the Bled Golf
Course are astonishing; thanks to its magnificent natural surroundings, Golf Bled is known as one of the most beautiful courses in Europe.
Yes, we could spend years talking about all these things, but there is really no need for words. Bled is something you simply need to visit and experience to absorb its magic through your every pore. You will want to return here again and again to recharge your energy in Bled’s bottomless springs. We are convinced that you will not put off your next visit for long.
There is only one island in Slovenia, but it is more beautiful and appealing than most island chains anywhere. It is situated in an Alpine lake, surrounded by picturesque mountains. For centuries, it has been an enchanting symbol of the town that modern tourists are just beginning to discover and to which they often return. If you are looking for something different and beautiful, for relaxa-tion and inspiration, a rest or sporting activities, you will find a thousand possibilities in Bled.
Romantic walks or a carriage ride around the lake, a trip in a tradi-tional pletna boat to the idyllic church on Bled island, a visit to the mighty castle on top of a vertical cliff by the lake, the nearby ski slopes, mountain hiking trails, golf course, hunting, fishing, casino – these are just some of the things you can do in Bled.
The natural sights in the surrounding areas enchant visitors from near and far with their unspoiled and intoxicating beauty. There is the Triglav National Park, Slovenia's only national park, which offers numerous possibilities for great hiking excursions. The wild, untamed nature of the Blejski Vintgar gorge is breathtaking; a ride on the aerial tramway to the Vogel ski slopes offers magnificent views of the Gorenjska region, and a trip to the nearby Bohinj and the Savica waterfall is still one of the most popular daytrips.
Bled also makes an ideal starting point for trips to other parts of Slovenia. Ljubljana, the capital, is less than an hour's drive away or you can visit the Predjamski grad castle and the Postojna cave. If you are not tempted by its mysterious depths, you can try rafting on the emerald green Soča river. On your way from Bled to the Soča valley, you will cross Kranjska Gora and the Vršič mountain pass – a fascinating trip in itself.
These are just a few of Bled's many attractions. Once you experi-ence them for yourself, you will always long for them.

Many first-time visitors to Bled are surprised by the mysterious power of this wonderful place. The person who started the Bled tradition of natural healing was Arnold Rikli, who founded his famous health resort here in the 19th century to bring visitors from all over the world closer to the mysterious healing power of Bled. This power is based on the invigorating Alpine air, the healing thermal water and the high number of sunny days per year. Although the church of Mary stands on Bled Island today, according to tradition this was once a place where Živa, the ancient Slavic goddess of life and fertility, was worshipped. It is this goddess that the wellness centre in the Hotel Golf was named after. The centre comprises swimming pools with thermal water, a world of saunas and a beauty centre for the body and soul.
Here you can swim in thermal water (30 °C) in the swimming pool area, which delights the visitors with pools on two levels connected by a waterslide and an outdoor pool that is open the whole year round. Children can play in the special children's pool, while adults can relax on massage beds and in two whirlpools. In the summer when the caretaker opens the glass front, you will be embraced by the fresh Alpine air and it will seem as though you can almost touch the Bled Castle. The view from the summer terrace is absolutely enchanting.
World of Saunas
After trying one of the two Finnish or two Turkish saunas, you are sure to enjoy a rest on the terrace with a beautiful view of Bled. There are several options for cooling down between saunas: the Laconium, a pleasant resting area with heated benches, a resting area with heated stone beds and a shower of experiences with special effects and a whirlpool.
For your sauna experience, you can choose a hot Finnish sauna (85-90 °C), a Finnish sauna (60-65 °C) with aromatherapy and light therapy, a steam Turkish sauna or a Turkish sauna with aromatherapy.

The Bled Golf Course
Bled Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in this part of Europe, having opened to the public as early as 1937. Even then, experts said that it was one of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe, since golfers are surrounded by idyllic nature at every step and spoiled by magnificent views. In 1940, the British ambas-sador Sir R. Campbell told a journalist, “You can truthfully pub-lish that this is the most beautiful golf course on the Continent…” and even today, many modern golfers are of the same opinion.
Especially since 1972, when the 18 hole King’s Golf Course was redesigned by the renowned golf architect Donald Harradine. Tak-ing into account all the natural features, he succeeded in creating an architectural masterpiece. In 2009, the Bled Golf Course was
54th on the list of the best and most beautiful golf courses in Europe. The fact that golfers use every single club in their bag when playing here demonstrates how varied and diverse the terrain is. It is no surprise that golfers keep coming back to this course.
In 1992, the King’s Golf Course was joined by the modern Lake
Golf Course, featuring more varied terrain, 9 holes and 3 water hazards. This is favoured by players looking to test their mastery of the game in the face of water hazards. There is a practice putting green next to the Lake Golf Course.
The King and Lake Golf Courses cover almost 100 ha of land.
They are distinguished by their size and the positioning of the holes. The exceptional natural features make each hole a unique experience and, thanks to its location in the embrace of Slovenia’s highest mountain, the course resembles a park.
The Bled Golf Course offers many possibilities for both beginners and experienced golfers, as well as the most demanding profes-sional players who participate in tournaments all over the world. At the practice facility, players can take advantage of a driving range, a practice putting green, a green with a sand hazard and a chipping green. Players looking to learn the game or improve their technique can hire a professional golf instructor. For children, we offer carefully compiled golf learning programmes, including golf camps.
Golfers can relax in the comfort of the King’s Club House, a jewel of rustic Slovenian architecture. Its interior is decorated with an unusual fresco by Gabrijel Stupica, depicting angels swinging golf clubs. The King’s Club House also has a renowned restaurant with an excellent menu and fine Slovenian wines for a pleasant meal with friends or business partners. The nine comfortably fur-nished double rooms are ideal for a true golfing vacation.
The Jezerska hiša Inn (Lake House Inn) by the Lake Golf Course attracts guests who enjoy its friendly atmosphere and Alpine style. Golfers like to sit on the shady terrace and choose from the menu of excellent Slovenian dishes. The inn also offers four comfort-able double rooms.
