Relaxation, recuperation as well as modern medical care and health provision is what awaits the guests in a brand new 1,400m2 state-of-the-art wellness spa reaching over two floors at the Grandhotel Lienz.
With direct access to the spa reception, including it’s own lift on ground floor level, guests and visitors can easily access the centre from their rooms or from the main reception area. Directly opposite the spa reception guests will find an indoor swimming pool flooded with natural light which connects to an outdoor pool through glass sliding doors.
The lounging area for the outdoor swimming pool and garden offer fantastic views to the Dolomite mountains and the river Isel which flows immediately next to the hotel. Guests will find a range of cardio machines and free weights by “Techno gym” in the 50m2 fitness centre.
Three treatment rooms (all with natural daylight) offering wellness and beauty treatments as well as “Ayurveda”, “Serailbad” and body wraps lie at the heart of the wellness area. The highlight is a private spa for two people, which includes a steam room, a whirlpool and quiet zone. The basement area offers a large wellness area with Finnish sauna, Bio sauna as well as steam rooms and quite zones.
The power of local herbs and moon phases are the philosophy of the “Gold of the Dolomites”, the house brand of spa treatment products used at Grandhotel Lienz. Irschen, known as the herb village and Vilgrater known as the region of nature, provide alpine herbs handpicked and processed with old traditional methods. Wraps and bath and oil massages are being applied according to the moon phases.
Furthermore the spa is offering facials and body treatments with the Caribbean spa brand “Ligne St Barth”. The anti ageing treatments with the Swiss cellular cosmetic line “Cellcosmet” and “Cellmen” are specially created to ensure suppleness and firmness of the skin as well as preventing skin ageing. A range of relaxation, medical and body firming massages including “Ayurveda” treatments round off the wide range of the spa and wellness offerings.
SymbioMed – The Medical Care Area
The medical area lead by university Professor Dr. Peter Lechleitner, unites western medicine of the highest standards with complementary medical approaches. The definition of “SymbioMed” stands for the symbiosis of the different medical branches. Professor Dr. Lechleitner´s medical centre can be found inside Grandhotel Lienz and offers 250m2 of space including several rooms available for treatments/therapy, a room for ultra sound, a room for Ergonomics with special spine and movement coordination areas. A team of five consisting of a cardiologist, a general practitioner, a dermatologist, a sports scientist and an osteopathy specialist are available for guests.
University Professor Dr. Lechleitner is an internationally known specialist doctor for internal medicine and cardiology. He is the head of the department for internal medicine at the hospital of Lienz and was part of the coordination team for the worlds most renowned and successful heart attack studies. Furthermore he holds a diploma in sports medicine and acupuncture. Over the last 15 years he also intensively studied traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and homeopathy, which he established at the hospital of Lienz.
Medical check ups and therapies
The unusual combination of modern western medicine and complimentary medicine is the philosophy at the heart of Grandhotel Lienz. Next to basic and intensive check ups, vascular check ups and dermatological examinations, there are also offerings on the topics of anti ageing and homeopathy and traditional Chinese medicine, a special body weight reducing program supported through an individual adapted exercise program, acupuncture, homeopathy and traditional treatments according to the five Chinese elements. It is also here where the medical team works closely with the Head Chef Thomas Gruber Further therapies for smoking cessation, improvement of anti ageing and wrinkle reduction are being treated alongside other practices using acupuncture. The “manager package” which includes an intensive health check and measuring of stress level is made complete by climbing the spiritual mountain “Groβglockner “(Austria’s highest mountain at 3798 meters). Also included in the “manager package” are green fees on a nearby golf course and a wine seminar.
Sports medicine examinations as well as movement, joint and spine analysis make the offer complete. In addition to the above, diagnosis processes and therapies at Grandhotel Lienz work closely with the hospital of Lienz (5 minutes distance) in making further examinations with state-of–the art machines ( CT,MRI, coronary angiography, scintigraphy, endoscopy) and therefore reducing long waiting times, Every guest receives a doctor’s letter with all the results and recommendations to ensure a smooth and speedy communication with your local doctor.
